The Franchise Times Top 400 is an annual ranking of the 400 largest franchise systems in the United States by global systemwide sales, based on the previous year’s performance.
Each year, Franchise Times spends five months collecting, verifying, and analyzing some of the countries’ largest franchise systems. As the only objective ranking available, the Franchise Times uses public records, surveys, company responses, financial statements, and systemwide sales (the total sales for both franchise and company units) to determine the top-ranking franchises. Because franchising is the only thing Franchise Times covers, year-round the Top 400 ranking is among the most prestigious and credible.
